5 Tips to Kick SaaS at SaaStr Annual 2020

SaaStr Annual is fast approaching! This is the largest B2B conference in the world. This year alone, SaaStr is expected to drive +15,000 SaaS founders, executives and VCs to the Bay Area for three days of content sessions from industry rockstars, actionable workshops and so much more. With that, here are our top 5 tips to make sure you get the most out of the conference.

1. Register for your sessions in advance

We know, you’re always told to register early, but what’s the harm in waiting until the last minute? When you wait until the last minute to choose the sessions you want to attend, you lose your chance to choose content that applies to you and your goals. Sit down, think of your goals for yourself and your company, then choose sessions that align.

In half an hour, you can have your session attendance planned, knowing that you will be listening to relevant, actionable content. As an added bonus, this ensures you know your availability when vendors inevitably ask for meetings or to take you to dinners and experiences.

2. Grab your coffee early

There are limited spots to grab coffee around the convention center and they are all slammed every morning. Plan your caffenation in advance, no one wants to miss a session or a meeting because they were stuck in the coffee line. Starbucks mobile orders are a lifesaver.

3. Attend a Braindate

Think business speed dating. The purpose of a braindate is to help someone else learn from your unique experiences. Already, there are 125 topics, with more being added every day. To attend, all you have to do is open the SaaStr app, click the “Braindate” tab, see what topic/person you want to learn from and select. This is an awesome opportunity to get some 1:1 time to learn from the best.

There are also Super Braindates, where 10 people gather around to discuss their experience over a topic. As an example, our CEO, Tim McCormick will host one called,  “The Impact of Investors Finding Errors in Your SaaS Metrics,” on Tuesday, March 10th at 11:30 AM. Definitely sign up for these in advance, space is limited!

4. Go to the Block Party

Seriously. Go.1st Avenue turns into a massive party filled with food trucks, music, games and even a ferris wheel. This is your chance to build relationships and memories that will last, I promise you won’t regret it.

5. Grab a burger before happy hour

SaaSOptics is based in Atlanta. Long story short, we don’t have In-N-Out Burger. So, we decided to indulge while we are on the West Coast. Drop by the SaaSOptics booth on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon and grab a burger before happy hour!

SaaStr is one of the best opportunities of the year to learn from and network with other members of the SaaS community. With hundreds of hours of actionable content at your fingertips, this is your chance to meet new resources and learn the most optimized ways to hit your goals in this new decade. Go into Annual ready to kick some SaaS, follow these tips and you will be set up for success.

Bonus tips:

  • Charge your devices and bring a portable charger. This is the week to make connections, not be connected to a wall outlet.
  • Wear comfortable shoes. The conference floor is 2x bigger than previous years and has a record number of attendees. That means you’ve got a lot of ground to cover.
